Ice Show Qualifications Information
All EPFSC Members and Eden Prairie Skate School students are welcome to register for the annual ice show.
Ice Show Small Group & Solo Qualifications
Skaters who wish to participate in small group numbers in the annual Ice Show must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a home club member of EPFSC in good standing,
- Skaters who transfer into EPFSC must be a Home Club member before September and contract for 3 sessions in fall, winter, and spring contracts.
- Have passed the U.S. Figure Skating Pre-Bronze Singles test,
- Compete in one competition during the ice show qualifying year (December 1 - November 30th), and
- Skate a minimum of 100 hours as validated by One Tap check-ins on EPFSC club ice during the ice show qualifying year (December 1 - November 30th).
For a skater to be eligible for a solo in the ice show, the skater must meet ALL the above criteria for small groups, plus:
- Have passed the U.S. Figure Skating Pre-Silver Singles test,
- Be in 7th grade and above, and
- Attempt one U.S. Figure Skating test during the ice show qualifying year (December 1 - November 30th).
- Test attempt is waived if Gold Singles test has been achieved
Out of all eligible skaters who meet the test level, hours, and competition/test attempt requirements, solos will be awarded to approximately eight skaters. Priority will be given in this order: 1) Seniors in high school; 2) State Champions; 3) Other eligible skaters ranked by seniority within the club. Small groups will be assigned at the discretion of the ice show director for the remaining eligible skaters.
