About EPFSC Junior Club
-
Junior Club offers a targeted program to provide skaters, U.S. Figure Skating Learn to Skate levels Basic 3 through Pre-Freestyle, the opportunity to participate in weekly small skating sessions with a certified skating professional.
-
Skaters may advance to Club membership from the Eden Prairie Learn to Skate program, other figure skating clubs, or from within the community. All Junior Club sessions maintain a small coach/skater ratio of 1:6.
-
Offers 30-minute sessions, twice-a-week, in a team environment, along with education for skaters, and their families, the ability to transition smoothly from Junior Club to comprehensive private skating instruction.
-
Provide skaters a structured program where they can advance their skating skills, benefit from peer interaction, work with different EPFSC Coaches, try private lessons, and build friendships without the major commitments of being a full EPFSC member.
-
Provide a streamlined process with easy-to-understand pricing structure that helps skaters transition from the Junior Club to EPFSC Home Club Membership and private coaching instruction.
- When you join Junior Club, you must also become an Eden Prairie Figure Skating Club member.
- Pricing: Junior club is $200 per EPFSC contract season (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer) or $20 per drop-in session. You must also purchase an EPFSC Junior Club or Home Club membership dependent on USFSA test level.
About EPFSC Membership
Skater Benefits:
- Junior Club participants must join EPFSC as a Junior Club Member ($75.00 per year) which includes membership with U.S. Figure Skating Association. Once your skater passes USFSA pre-preliminary skating skills or singles test levels, your skater would progress to a home club membership. Our membership year runs July 1 - June 31st.
- The skater will be eligible to purchase club ice time with one of our highly qualified figure skating coaches for additional individual practice in private coaching sessions. Ice time is payable to EPFSC + coaches’ fees payable to the coach.
- The skater will have the opportunity to compete in local and national figure skating competitions.
- The skater will have access to the Club locker room and may request a locker (assigned by skater seniority).
- The skater will have the opportunity to attend the annual club banquet.
- The skater must have figure skates with toe picks (no hockey skates). If you do not own figure skates, you may rent them from the community center.
- Member families are encouraged to volunteer with the club; however, volunteer requirements begin in the second year of membership.
- Member families and skaters will be required to fundraise beginning with the second year of membership.
- Skaters and families are asked to abide by a code of conduct in line with the mission of EPFSC.
The Junior Club loves to have fun! There are holiday theme nights and games every week!
